I’ve come to a simple conclusion.
Keeping up with Google Reader subscriptions is basically a part-time job. I love when I’m completely caught up. I feel like I’ve accomplished great things. Like I’m the Queen of the world. Then I realize that I have 456 projects to do for my paid full-time gig, and I feel defeated again. However, if my tasks at work were as fun as Google Reader, I might not be so far behind. Don’t tell my boss.
Post-Race Report:
I’m feeling good today. My right calf is feeling a little goofy, but that’s nothing new. I’ve sort of come to terms with my goofy calf thing, and I’m ok with it. Unless it falls off, begins to bleed, or shows certain signs of protruding bones, I’m not going to worry about it. That’s my new motto. Because I have my first 1/2 marathon in 13 days, and I am certainly not going to let up now. I am way behind on my mileage (um…WAY behind on my mileage), but I’m just gonna go with it. Wing it. Fly by the seat of my Nike running capris. Because that’s how I roll. And for real, since this is my first 1/2, this IS my PR, bitches! It’s gonna be slow, but I’ll get the job done.
I’m actually wishing that it wasn’t raining today so that I could get in a little recovery run action after work. There’s a route that I’ve been dying to try out, and the plan is to strap on my runners at 5PM (on a non-raining day), and just set out on my planned course. I’m pretty sure that the route I have in mind could get me between 6-8 miles out and back, which would be a fantastic way to end the work day. That would be a good run for tomorrow, barring any further rain delays.
In Other News:
I am thoroughly absorbing all things vegetarian and raw. Literally and figuratively. I have received all except one of the books that I ordered, and I’m impatiently awaiting the arrival of my Excaliber food dehydrator because I desperately want to make some coconut macaroons, a la The Fitnessista. I have also decided to purchase the book Ani’s Raw Food Kitchen because. Well. Because I want some of these donut holes. I keep seeing these damn things all over the blogiverse, and I am brought nearly to tears each time. Because I must have them.
Today, I received this book.
I love that on the first page, it says “Einstein was a vegetarian.”
I love that this book is only 111 pages long, but it still has an index.
I love that this book is only 111 pages long. I don’t feel overwhelmed by it.
Tonight I’m going to try one of the recipes and see how it goes. You know. Since My Gazelle will be at work, so eating a raw dinner will be much more easy. Since he’s all meat and potatoes and GRRRRRRR. I’ll let you know how that goes. I will also be posting my experience yesterday with Bob’s Red Mill Apple Spice Muffin Mix, complete with step-by step pictures. I know you just can’t wait.
