Dog Poop and Flesh Wounds

by on March 24, 2010

Although I woke up partially debilitated from Monday night’s kickboxing class, everything seemed to be going fine this morning.  I woke up a little early, with plans to stop on the way to work for a Starbucks Latte.  I didn’t even have a case of brain fog when I rolled out of bed, and for me, that is amazing.

Waking up is not one of my favorite things in the world.   I’m fine once I’m actually out of bed, but the waking up part poses a challenge for me most of the time.

Back to our story.  Everything was moving along according to schedule.  Brush teeth, shower, wash hair, moisturize, get dressed.

Check, check, check, check and check!

“Wow, I’m making great time!  Starbucks latte, here I come!”

Blow dry hair, begin flat ironing hair, walk out to the kitchen to get Maya (the black dog) some water, because she won’t leave me alone…

“OUCH!  FLESH WOUND!  OUCH!  MY FOOT!  I’M BLEEDING TO DEATH!”

(only I am able to cause major harm to myself with a natural dog bone)

“DAMN DOGS!”

While I was treating my wound, I told the dog to go lay down again.

“GAWD, I GAVE YOU WATER DOG…WHAT MORE DO YOU WANT?!”

Proceeded to continue with my hair.  lalalalalalala…doing my hair…lalalalalalalala.  Then I spotted it.  The black dog (that hairy little beast), pooping on my rug!!!

(I guess she wasn’t thirsty after all)

All of this transpired before 7AM today.  Hopefully, I have already faced the worst part of my day, because I have kickboxing class again tonight.  Considering the fact that I’m ithurtstomove sore from Monday’s class (which left me with skinned knees and bloody elbows), putting myself in a potentially harmful situation might be a bad idea on a day like today.

But, I’m going to do it anyway.

I’m also going to check out the swim school down the street from my job on my lunch hour.  But I’m not going to swim today.  That would just be too risky on a day like today.
